Cool tale and engraving!!
Hey I finally figured out how to post to this. Great pic and story Stephen. Hope you're well and enjoying the printmaking!
Oh GOodie! Hi Kat...... Glad you figured the posting out... I have been trying to right out the process, because it is way convoluted..... if you find your way to your"Dashboard", book mark it.. its tough to find again.... you can always post from there..
The wood engraving is neat, not only because it is goth, but because I don't need a press or acid ventilation. Was down at school with a copperplate etching of Promethius, trying to avoid Chlorine Gas fumes from the Dutch Mordant.. but I do love fine lines and detail... Anyway graduation is a couple weeks away, and I'll be loosing press access, so wood engravings might fill the bill.
The story - slightly embellished ( the capsizing), but the rest actually happened. Aaron loved to terrorize the freshwater boating boy in me from the first time he had me out in the bay in a canoe. The fin sighting was real, and yes, Aaron wanted to chase it. He did not get his wish... :^)
